You Zi is a collaboration between photographer and MA graduate Gemma Thorpe, and David Forrest an academic at the University of Sheffield in the UK. The project aims to explore and illustrate the experiences of Chinese students studying at The University of Sheffield.
Thorpe and Forrest are maintaining a blog that will illuminate the dialogues that shape their collaboration, offering a window on how they bring together practical and theoretical approaches to the themes of identity, belonging, the city and the everyday.
