Berta Tilmantaite, who completed the MA last year, has been awarded another prize for her project “The River Runs Back.” Berta’s 9 minute video, which examines the transformation of the Yongding River near Beijing, was announced as a winner of the TV category in the WASH Media Award.

The WASH Media Awards recognise and support the crucial role of media in raising awareness of the importance of water, sanitation, and hygiene services. They aim to promote coverage of WASH issues in the local, national and international media that can have a positive influence on decision-makers, the private sector, the civil society as well as individuals and households. Launched in 2002 by Water Supply and Sanitation Collaborative Council (WSSCC), the WASH Media Award is presented in collaboration with the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI).

The WASH Media Award Ceremony will take place at the end of the World Water Week in Stockholm, on 31 August 2012.
