2006 MA graduate Adam Dean has been awarded First Place, General News in the 2011 Picture of the Year International competition. Adam’s untitled photograph shows two wounded US soliders in a moment of quiet pain while being medevaced from the front line.
This photograph is part of a larger story called the “Afghanistan: The Long War,” that has been nominated in the Current Affairs category for the 2011 Sony World Photography awards, which will be announced in London on 27 April 2011.
